Hey there dessert lovers! I have to admit, I have a weakness for all things sweet, but when I discovered that it was possible to create a cake that tasted just like a Cinnamon Roll, I was over the moon! I mean, who wouldn’t be, right?

So, I did some digging and came up with my own unique take on this Cinnamon Roll Cake, and let me tell you, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece! The texture is simply out of this world, and I’m not one to boast, but you’re going to want to try this recipe ASAP.

So let’s gather the Supplies!

White Cake Mix:

  • 1 box of White Cake Mix
  • 1 and 1/3 cup of Milk
  • 1 cup of Sour Cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp of Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup of Flour
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • 1 tsp of Salt
  • 1 box of White Chocolate Pudding

Cinnamon Roll Filling:

  • 1/2 cup of melted Butter
  • 1 cup of Brown Sugar
  • 3 tbsp of Flour
  • 1 tbsp of Cinnamon

Step 1: Starting with a base (White Cake Mix)

First things first, start with a base, which for this recipe is my trusty white cake mix. I love this recipe because you can add different ingredients to create different flavors. For example, if you’re in the mood for a strawberry cake, just add in some strawberry flavoring, fresh blended strawberries, and strawberry pudding.

.

For the Cinnamon Roll Cake, simply combine all the wet ingredients like milk, sour cream, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and then combine the dry ingredients like white cake mix, flour, sugar, pudding mix, and salt.

Then, slowly pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing everything together until you have a smooth batter.

Next, pour the melted butter, sugar, flour, and cinnamon into a bowl and whisk everything together. This mixture should be pretty thick, which is perfect for what comes next.

Step 2: Making the Cinnamon Roll Filling

Grab a bowl and pour in the melted butter, sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Give it a good whisk for at least 10 seconds (or less if you’re feeling fancy) until everything is fully combined. Don’t forget to scrape the sides of the bowl to ensure all the ingredients are mixed in. You’ll notice the mixture is quite thick, but that’s exactly what we want because something delicious is about to happen!

Step 3: Adding the Cinnamon Roll Filling to the Cake Mix

Now that you’ve got the white cake mix and cinnamon roll filling ready, it’s time to combine them for the ultimate dessert. Take a spoon and add around 3 spoonfuls of the delicious cinnamon filling into each cake pan. Don’t worry if you go a little overboard like I always do – it just means more yumminess!

Then, grab a butter knife and swirl the filling around in the pan. You’ll end up with a beautiful marbled effect without any chocolate involved. Pop the cake into the oven at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes, but make sure to check on it earlier just in case it’s done sooner.

Step 4: Adding frosting/Decorating the cake

Personally, I am a huge fan of Cream Cheese Frosting. I mean, seriously, it’s the bomb! It complements so many desserts perfectly. The reason why I always go for cream cheese frosting is that I had a Cinnamon Roll from Cinnabon once, and the cream cheese frosting on top was simply divine.

I just had to recreate that flavor! If you’re into light and silky smooth frosting, then this article will definitely guide you in the right direction. Once you’re done crumb coating and frosting the cake with cream cheese frosting, you can add pecans as a garnish to the exterior or even go for a more elaborate design with fondant decorations. The sky’s the limit!

So let’s try it!!

I totally adore this recipe! It’s so easy to follow and the end result is always amazing. And guess what? You can even have it for breakfast, yep, you heard me right!
